Gain pain
The Integrated Project Insurance (IPI) Model, Project Procurement and Delivery Guidance, published by the Cabinet Office in 2014 suggests that the gain/pain share mechanism can be used: ‘…to identify and reward all key alliance members for effective collaborative management of the project/programme and its associated risks and benefits to successful conclusion.’
An alliance contract is: ‘A collaborative “non-tiered” alliance contract between a client and the other members of an integrated team.’
